Red Tulip and Forsythia

This tulip was part of an absolutely lovely bouquet of red and white tulips which were bought at the grocery store along with some forsythia from the garden which was at the point of opening. Have lasted a week and are now ready to drop their petals.

Dyptych Crabapples

I tried to get these two to work together. Unfortunately in the photos the colours are quite different. An interesting exercise!

Crabapple Blossom Glory

The weather on Tuesday's has been very disappointing for a certain group of outdoor painters! Am all set to go but it just keeps pouring. But God is good and gives us warm, dry houses to shelter in, so who am I to complain when we have so much more than most of the world! I finally gave in and did some painting inside. I have a photograph of beautiful crabapple blossom and decided to try and give my impression of the glory of this tree. I am thankful that we are still going to experience that here in Southern Ontario. It is painted on an odd size large canvas and still needs some work. Hope the weather next week is better!

Amaryllis single floret.

This is a little painting of one flower of the beautiful amaryllis bulbs we received just before New Years from a nephew. Doesn't really do it justice but it's beauty deserved to be immortallized. We've had continuous pleasure from them for several months. This is the final bloom-the last of the 3 buds on the biggest bulbs. Thanks!

Reaching for Heaven

My sweet little 18 month old loves to push buttons and sent this picture to my blog yesterday before I was able to write anything. So, I gave up! I'm happy to be painting again. Will be starting another outdoor plein air painting course next week. Have to get over the fear of picking up a paint brush before then so little time as possible is wasted. Looking forward to being outside in God's magnificent Creation and train the eye to search for the beauty that is present all around us. We usually don't give ourselves the time to lok for it. This was painted on a piece of 1\4 inch plywood with a mahogany veneer finish which was sealed with a water based varnish. It's very nice to paint on. Thanks to my son-in-law who often has pieces left over.
