"Little Beauties"

I found these crabapples on the path to Lumby beach and thought the colours were lovely. Added the birch bark and pine cone and painted them on the sand of the parking lot.

The clouds kept whipping through with the wind chasing them which made it hard to catch them and paint my impression. That's the fun!

Arrowhead Park 2010

Yes, hello folks, it's been a while since the last entry. We have been away. Labour day weekend and week were spent near Huntsville in Arrowhead Provincial Park. There has not been as much painting as wished for because of the rainy weather. Still had a good time!

This little painting was done on the campsite. There were lot's of these logs rotting on the forest floor. While painting I heard someone shout that a bear was heading down to our campsite. It makes for a little nervous painting. Wonder if bears like acrylic paint?

Fruit bowl with Narcissus

Was doing a lot of reading on 'Impressionism and loved the warmth and lushness of Cezanne's fruit still lifes and this was my effort.

Red Canoe

One more paddle for the collection. We will be off for a week, starting Tuesday, and hope to enjoy this great Canadian landscape.

Bales of Straw

It is very warm and humid with two little guys to run after leaves little time and energy to paint. Took some photographs of straw, newly baled with beautiful cloud patterned sky. Tried different blues to get the right shade for the clouds. Funny that the colour always seems different the next day. Straw bales are a play of different yellows and the resullting field looks so different from a hay field.

Bouquet of Red Roses

I started working on this painting of roses in my favorite vase but lost interest and haven't finished it. The roses are long gone. In Summer it's hard to concentrate on anything that has to be done inside. This will be a challenge to complete in the fall.
