Red and Pink Roses in a vase

I started this painting when the roses were just finished blooming. Played around with it to try to make an interesting painting since the roses have long gone.

Sun through the trees

Worked at Christie Conservation Area yesterday while there was a highschool crosscountry run going on around me. Kept me from feeling lonely. Workked on it again last night. Will post the revised edition later. This maple had all it's limbs reaching toward the East, and some leaf left along the bottom. The Fall colours are wonderful!

White Pine -Christie Conservation Area

Went out painting this afternoon and finished just before the rain started. White pines can develop so much visual character when they age. This one is a very good example of that kind of tree. There is still some work to do on this little painting.

Path to the water

Last Wednesday it was very windy and this spot gave some protection but still had a view of the water. Had a struggle with the path that went down to the water to get it to go down! Will have to tackle many more on this theme.

Middletown Road Corn

This was a quick study and close up of the tangled corn and resident grasses done in an hour of speedy brushstrokes.

Barn on Middletown Road

I struggled with this one. There were two barns behind the hill and that just didn't do nuch for the composition. Sure enjoyed the lovely fall day and the scenery while I was painting. "Soli Deo Gloria"

Primavera Farm

It was wonderful to paint in the sunshine last week and enjoy the fall colours and the play of light on the distant fields and hills. the challenge being to convey this on the canvas. This day went well with the movement of the tangled corn creating inspiration.

Dundas Valley Farm

Had a wonderful afternoon painting on the "Primavera" Farm last Tuesday. This was from three weeks before looking towards the school. Fantastic scenery with a view of the Dundas Valley!

September Week

One of the last paintings done on the final beautiful day at Arrowhead. Had run out of several colours. Finished it by memory last week. I look at it and feel the melancholy experienced when the crowds have left and things are closing down for the winter. There are still footprints on the beach and the occasional
sand castle, but no children.

Golden Fields

We couldn't go out painting today because of the rain. This painting was done two weeks ago when we painted at the same location planned for today. Oh well. Too bad.

Dhalias in Red

Love those Dhalias! We bought the tubers a garage sale for a buck! They have flourished this year. Have gotten loads of pleasure from them-maybe it's worth digging them up and storing them over the winter.

Windy Day-Arrowhead

Hello, we are back from our travels and revelling in the splendour of fall. The last hurrah of the season and we will soon have no more flowers, raspberries, grass to cut, no more bare feet and no more colourful leaves on which to feast the eyes. Thank you Lord for the seasons!
